  • "Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allaah) [above all that (evil) they associate with Him], Who took His slave (Muhammad sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) to the farthest mosque (in Jerusalem), the neighbourhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) of Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.), Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer." [Al-Israa' (17):1]

    Whenever the Prophet asked permission to enter, he knocked the door thrice with greeting and whenever he spoke a sentence (said a thing) he used to repeat it thrice. (See Hadith No. 261, Vol. 8). [The Book of Knowledge Volume 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 94]
