"Did you (O Muhammad sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) not think of those who went forth from their homes in thousands, fearing death? Allaah said to them, "Die", And then He restored them to life, Truly, Allaah is full of Bounty to mankind, but most men thank not." [Al-Baqarah (2):243]

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr:
Once the Prophet remained behind us in a journey. He joined us while we were performing ablution for the prayer which was over-due. We were just passing wet hands over our feet (and not washing them properly) so the Prophet addressed us in a loud voice and said twice or thrice: "Save your heels from the fire." [The Book of Knowledge Volume 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 57]
