  • "Among those who are Jews, there are some who displace words from (their) right places and say: "We hear your word (O Muhammad sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam ) and disobey," and "Hear and let you (O Muhammad sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) hear nothing." And Ra'ina with a twist of their tongues and as a mockery of the religion (Islaam), And if only they had said: "We hear and obey", and "Do make us understand," it would have been better for them, and more proper, but Allaah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not except a few." [An-Nisaa' (4):46]

  • Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr:

    Once Allah's Apostle remained behind us in a journey. He joined us while we were performing ablution for the 'Asr prayer which was over-due. We were just passing wet hands over our feet (not washing them properly) so the Prophet addressed us in a loud voice and said twice or thrice, "Save your heels from the fire." [The Book of Knowledge Volume 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 96]
